The '12 hour Mormond Hill Run' returns in 2020 - in aid of Hamish Dear's Warm Hugs and Kayleigh's Wee Stars.
It will be held on Saturday 19th September 2020 starting at 06:00am.
Please note that this is not a race. It is a fundraiser run only!
It's a simple concept - run from Ritchie Hall, Strichen, up Hospital Brae, up the quarry road to Hunter's Lodge, then down the other side and up to the gate just before the satellites (4 miles out) then turn and run back (4 miles back). A total of 8 miles and over 1,000ft of ascent. Then repeat as many times as possible within 12 hours. There will be a 0.25 mile loop marked out round the football pitches at Ritchie Hall to carry on running if you're timed out for another full 8 mile loop.
Runners can sign up individually to take on the full 12 hours, as part of a relay team, or to run a certain number of laps.
The route will be marked and marshalled but keep an eye out for details of a guided run on the route beforehand.
Your entry fee will be used to pay the expenses for the event (hire of Ritchie Hall facilities, medals, catering etc) and any surplus will go to the charities. We would ask that you promote the justgiving page (details to follow) so that we can all try to raise as much money as possible for these wonderful charities!
The run starts from the Ritchie Hall playing field and the route takes in stunning views of the Buchan countryside.
When at the summit you can see from the 'Sea to Bennachie'.
Registration will be at 05:30am beside the Ritchie Hall.
Start time will be 06:00am, and a run briefing will take place prior to the start.
Entries are £20 per runner. (plus 80p booking fee, which goes to Entry Central)
Online entry only.
Over 18s runners only.
Aid station. There will be 1 aid station situated at Ritchie Hall with a variety of food/drinks (provided by volunteers). Water will be available at the 4 mile point. If you have any specific fuelling requirements, please take your own.
